PreConference Trauma Counselling Seminar

Key resource people will be Benson, of ILA Uganda and Shaharazad, International Association for Refugees - Canada. They will be sharing their approaches to trauma counseling, born out of their own experiences and training.

Shahrazad has advanced level training in STAR and has combined it with THI, Life Maps and spiritual discernment to offer her own unique style of trauma care with displaced people here in North America.

Benson's approach is shaped by his work with internally displaced people in Uganda with Dr. Robi Sonderegger, who is a clinical psychologist from Australia. Benson is a co-author in a transforming and culturally sensitive trauma counseling curriculum called Empower. 

There will be opportunity for question and answer during this interactive seminar.

Separate registration of $20 is required for this Wednesday morning session.
