The Cost of Poverty ExperienceTM (COPE) is designed to give you a glimpse into the life of low-income refugee families living in our community.
We know the power that this experience can bring to groups – large and small. We also know that it can mobilize volunteers, advocates, social service professionals, educators, elected officials and corporations to better understand the systemic issues of poverty and what it’s like to be a refugee in a low-income family.
We will see how these systemic issues affect each of us, no matter what socioeconomic class we belong to. COPE will help you to further your mission and provide an emotional, experiential training that will impact participants for a long time.
As one participating CEO commented after the COPE, “I have had many meetings this month, but this is one that I am going to remember for a long, long time. Thank you for helping me to better understand and to have greater compassion.”
Join us for the COPE refugee simulation on Thursday, July 27th to get a glimpse into these experiences – the obstacles they face, the decisions they make and the consequences that impact these families every day.
